Why « Le Windsor »?
The studio name « Le Windsor » is a nod to the former Montreal Windsor Hotel owned by the late R. Howard Webster, a close relative of Le Héron’s current proprietors, until its closure in 1981.
Built in 1878, the Windsor Hotel was Montreal’s first modern luxury hotel. For more than a decade, the establishment was at the heart of Montreal’s social life, accommodating many distinguished public and political guests, as well as members of the Royal family.
The Moose
Designing a sophisticated studio requires inspiration, and what better to remind us of the greatness of nature than the moose, with its iconic antlers?
Imposing and graceful, the moose’s brute force and distinctive fur conjure up the unique character of our region. With its stately antlers, imposing hooves and elegant coat, the moose symbolises nature in its purest form, a hallmark of the Eastern Townships.
Presence in the region
The Eastern Townships are home to many remarkable animal species, but the moose is, undeniably, one of the region’s most emblematic animal.
This member of the cervid species is omnipresent in our mountain forests, including those of Mt. Orford and Mt. Mégantic parks. It can be encountered in both the large wilderness areas and the smaller natural spaces of our beautiful region.
It’s up to you to find it!
A unique concept
Le Héron, with its 6 nature studios, introduces an innovative concept. Enjoy the privacy offered by these fully equipped studios while vacationing in one of the most beautiful regions of Quebec.
Wishing you could gather with your friends or family members under a same roof, without compromising your comfort? Le Héron offers the possibility of reserving all six studios. Whether for a week of skiing at Mt. Orford, or hiking the trails in summer and fall, Le Héron has been designed to enable those precious moments spent with your loved ones.
